Student Project Grants

Apply for Fall 2018 Student Project Grants 

Do you have a great idea for a tech project that just needs a little funding to get off the ground? Our student project grants can help you host a hackathon, produce art, develop a product and much more.

This year we have a total pool of up to $15,000. It will be awarded to the top three to five projects. Submit your innovation below for the chance to pitch to your fellow students and make your project a reality.

Applications for 2019 funding are open now and close Sunday, October 28 at midnight.  

Requirements for proposals
  • Individual proposals may request up to $5,000.
  • Awardee(s) commit to present their project in a 5-10 minute pitch at Tech Hub on Tuesday, November 13 for final consideration.
  • All applicants or members of a team are current students of The Ohio State University. Both graduate and undergraduate students qualify. Alumnus, faculty, staff and community members are ineligible for grant funding.
  • Students graduating in autumn semester 2018 are ineligible to apply. Teams must include at least one member whose graduation date falls after December 2018.
  • Applicants who are employed by The Ohio State University may not use employer resources in the creation of their project unless otherwise exempted.
  • Applications must be submitted by Sunday, October 28 at 11:59 p.m. to be eligible for review.
  • All required fields in the online grants submission form have been satisfied.
  • Proposed project must demonstrate a tie to technology.
Ineligible Projects
  • Those prohibited by local, state or federal law.
  • Those with obscene or otherwise inappropriate themes for the University environment, at the discretion of the selection committee.
  • Any projects in violation of another's intellectual property rights.
