Engineering Device Reservation Request

If you are interested in reserving a device before stopping in to our store, this form is available to make a reservation! You will not be making a payment at this time. Upon submission of the device reservation form, we will process the request. If you are looking to reserve a device for non-engineering students, please check out our general form.

The College of Engineering is requiring every incoming student to bring their own laptop to campus that meets or exceeds their recommended specifications. These devices were specifically approved by the College of Engineering and selected to be sold by us at Tech Hub. Most engineering disciplines fall into the “general recommendation”, but if you are in the Knowlton School or in Civil, Environmental, and Geodetic Engineering, the higher-end device (Lenovo P1) is recommended by your college.

You are free to purchase a comparable device elsewhere, but please note that the prices for these devices include a 4-year protection plan against manufacturing defects as well as accidental damage. Additionally, these prices are subject to change, as we adjust in accordance with the manufacturer. 

If the laptop is currently in stock, we will set it aside with a quote attached to the OSU-affiliated individual's email address. This reservation will be valid for 7 days - if the device is not paid for in that time frame, the item will be put back into inventory and the quote will be canceled. At this time, you are only able to pay via phone (614-292-8883) or in person. Once the order is paid for, it will be held for you indefinitely.

If the laptop is not in stock, it can still be reserved and paid for in advance. We will indicate to you if the device is not available, and if possible, a rough estimate of its ETA. If it is paid for, it will be held indefinitely for you upon arrival.

At this time, none of these laptops are available in store and many are not expected to arrive for 6-8 weeks. Please keep these numbers in mind if you are going to wait to make a purchase - ship times this summer are expected to be volatile.
